In the Laboratory of Introduction to Architectural Design, students explore, through a series of analysis and synthesis exercises, the role of an initial idea in creating the structure and form of a building. Such exercises are:

  • A memory-based design representation of an existing place.
  • Building composition, using the specified spatial units.
  • The modification of a cube in order to construct a small residence.
